Thank GOD it's Thursday!
Every Thursday in Rooms A & B
A series of informative, interesting and engaging discussions on a variety of complex and dynamic issues that affect us on a daily basis. Come for information, education, fellowship and FUN!
CONFIRMATION: When many of us were infants our parents chose to celebrate the sacrament of baptism. They made promises on our behalf that we would live and grow in a community of faith, where we celebrate God’s presence, live with respect in creation and love and serve others. Once old enough, youth, or adults at any age, can renew those promises on their own behalf by being confirmed into this congregation of Woodlawn United.
The confirmation classes are faith development experiences that invite people to explore concrete ways to practice Christianity in everyday life, to understand themselves as part of a community of people who don’t just go with the flow; a community that gathers around Jesus’ radical way of being in the world. Experience music, prayer justice, community, attuned to God’s presence.
We are pleased to offer 4 TGIT sessions devoted to confirmation classes for youth and adults. Even if you haven’t attended any others, you are welcome to attend. However, In order to be confirmed you must attend all 4 sessions as outlined below.
Youth will attend form 6-9 pm and adults are asked to join in from 7-9 pm.
The sessions are as follows:
Thursday January 11: The Bible: We will be learning a brief overview of the bible and how it came to be and why it is important in our lives.
Thursday January 18: GOD: Through discussion, activities, and video clips, we will be discussing GOD.
The confirmation sessions will continue on Thursday February 8th and 15th, with discussions about Jesus and the Church.

Come Dream... about our future as Woodlawn United Church!
Friday February 2 ~ 7:00 – 9:00 PM
As part of the visioning exercises currently underway, we are working to establish how WUC can best live out our call as a part of the body of Christ in the world.
WUC Council invites YOU to attend our“Congregational Retreat” in the Brick Hall Feb 2nd and 3rd led by Rev. Dr. Ross Bartlett. Snacks and Lunch are provided.
This visioning process is to help us clearly name which part of the work for the Kingdom of God WUC is being called to. We value everyone’s input as we do this work. Please come out and share your thoughts and dreams for Woodlawn United Church.
We will be celebrating what we already do well, discussing the gaps and then focusing on what our core values are as we go into the future. There will be a parallel program for children of all ages run by Shannon, Adelia & Lily upstairs in rooms A&B. We will be doing some visioning and other fun things.
Please RSVP to the office at 902-434-8302 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org and include any dietary needs.
